Paranoid about sepsis

Had my gallbladder out nine days ago and developed an infection in my abdominal wound. Spent two days in hospital this week and came home last night. Throughout, my temperature kept spiking - first night in hospital I was so poorly for hours through the night with a temp of nearly 40. Second night in hospital I kept throwing up.
They discharged me with oral antibiotics but my temperature is still quite high and I have continued to be sick, and I now feel like I have full-on flu, weak, dizzy and limp and no energy to move.
Have I just caught flu on top of everything else?
If I had sepsis, they’d have picked up on it, right?

Phone the ward you were on for advice.

My friend went to A&E a couple of years ago feeling ill. He was send home with paracetamol. Two days later he was admitted with sepsis.

Flu is going around though. (Same friend is just recovering from flu now). Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks... the ward have advised I call 111 so I guess I’m going through that process again!

How are you now @HappyShark ?

Go back to a&e, you might need iv antibiotics. We’ve just been through similar with ds who had his appendix out, 11 days later he had a second op to remove an abscess and pus. His only symptom was spiking temperature and feeling unwell.

Hope it’s not that. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Thanks both, I’m back on the ward now, have had IV antibiotics and currently IV fluids. Still feel really nauseous and unable to eat or drink, but at least my temperature has come down and my BP has gone up and I feel less hideous.
Just hoping the nausea passes as I suspect it was that causing dehydration which led to the other issues.

Glad you've got the treatment you need @HappyShark. Pity the ward told you to call 111 but perhaps they had no beds. Speedy recovery!

Does anyone know of a help with a long term persistent cough

Don't know why my question is on this page, never posted before, don't know how to. Don't want to interfere with this discussion
