I have!
In my late 20s I had an abnormal smear that showed cell change due to hpv. No treatment just monitoring through regular smears (6 months for a bit then annual for about 10 more years). It went away after a year without any treatment. I am now mid 40s and it has just been detected again, actually on cells that were all removed during an unrelated surgery, so it has been removed coincidentally and I am back on annual smears to monitor.
My understanding is that this is the reason for smears- to detect early and either monitor or treat before the cells become cancerous, which would take years.
Make sure you talk through all your worries and possible scenarios with your dr/ gynaecologist so you understand exactly what you have and where you stand- and insist on regular smears.
I am sure you will be fine.

I tested positive for hpv with high grade dyskaryosis. I had a colposcopy at the hospital swiftly followed by LEEP excision of the affected cells.
My follow up smear was clear and I've since carried a baby to term and had another follow up smear all clear.

No hpv but I do have cervical ectropian. Than in itself has never caused me any issues except bleeding in my pregnancies, so isn't something you necessarily need to worry about.

Hi how old were you when u had ectropion and how old r u now xx

Hi cervical ectropions are harmless and unrelated to cervical cancer. Please don't worry about them, they're very common.

I had a smear test after having spotting between periods and bleeding after sex. The results came back as abnormal and I also tested positive for HPV. The doctor also said that the spotting was likely due to cervical erosion - which is linked to use of the combined contraceptive pill.

I had cold coagulation to remove the abnormal cells and after my follow up smear test my results were normal and I was clear for HPV.

I was so scared when the results came back, worrying about my son growing up without me and everything else bad I could think of. I knew that this was health anxiety, but that doesn't stop the intrusive thoughts. I think it's only human so please don't beat yourself up about that. Please just remember that they have found this early and that can only be a good thing.

Do you take the pill by any chance? If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.

Hi. I know thay cervical erosion is nothing to do with cancer. At first i was going crazy because of anxiety but it took me a year to accept it. When i got it treated they did a biopsy for precaution and it came back with hpv but no abnormal cells. I know of positive stories with ectropion but i am afraid that because i had hpv (which i am clear of now) and ectropion it means i am deffinetly going to get cervical cancer. I dont know anyone who had both ectropion amd hpv. I suffer extreme health anxiety been nearly two years cnt stop the nehative thoughts even though gynae has reassured me that hov is common in my age group and pretend u never had it. But i cant pretend xx
