BCG Advice for 16 week old

My little girl is 16 weeks and has been told she needs to have a BCG vaccination because her father and grandparents are from a high risk zone for tuberculosis. She had her appointment through the post that it's been booked in for Friday 1st February and I'd also booked her 4 months vaccinations Monday 4th February (the ones requiring calpol due to risk of fever) previously. What's your opinion on having so many vaccines so close together, should I? Or space them out a bit? Also has anyones babies had the BCG what's your opinion? What was the reaction like after? Just trying to work out if she may be more likely to get a bit poorly after having both together. Thanks! X

Hi, my baby had the BCG vaccine on the day of birth (or one day later, not sure), in the hospital. No adverse effects I was aware of.

Hi, I realise that you have had all the vaccinations by now, but I just wanted to reassure you.
When my dcs were born we were living overseas in an area with high risk for TB. All my dc were born here, and we returned there at 8 weeks.

So they had their baby vaccines and BCG in those first 8 weeks.

They all had some reaction from BCG, my son's was quite noticeable, the vaccination site develops a blister/bubble, but not immediately, up to several weeks after vaccination. This is quite normal and not to be worried. Don't be tempted to pop it or drain it, it will do that naturally, when/if it does burst just keep it dry until healed. (no baths)

My son's was very large and refilled with puss a couple of times. It was all normal, that is within the ranegs of normal.

My wee boy had his at 5 months as there was a shortage where I live. No reaction at first but a big red lump came up about 4 weeks later and he still has it now (8.5mo!). Had it checked recently by a GP and all is normal, it will eventually pop and puss will come out (lovely!). Didn't have the 24hrs of crying like with the other vaccinations so that was good!
