It has been wobbling for weeks. Its now turning black and causing a bit of bleeding. Adult tooth is growing in at the back. It just wont come out. I have made an appointment with the dentist but what could be causing the tooth not to fall out? This has never happened to any of my other children. It just will not fall out!!

My dd has same, the dentist pulled it in the end as we were waiting for it to fall out for braces. Took 2 seconds, no injection.

She is 7 years old. Any dentists with advice? She has wobbled it etc but still it hangs in there. It now looks ridiculous.

Ah that's great to know. Thanks. I feel for her. She hasn't been able to eat properly for ages!! Its now causing her discomfort.

My DD has had a couple of stubborn ones that have had to be pulled. It seems like it's because her adult teeth come through behind rather than underneath so they don't give it enough of a push out.

DS had one like that. It had been like that for a few months so I asked the dentist to take It out and he refused, said “it’ll be out if you just wobble it over the next few days wirh yiur tongue.”

It didn’t come out. Dentist left and DS went for another check up 6 months later with new dentist. DH took him and I made him promise to insist the new dentist didn’t fob us off again. It came out fine and then she had to get all the tartar off the surrounding teeth where DS had been unable to brush properly all those months. Hmm

Ds 10 has same issue
Dentist said give it 6 months to come out naturally or he'll take it out. 4 months down, no movement so thinking extraction in March

Thanks. I will ask him to take it out. Thanks for the advance warning that they may want to leave it. I suppose they don't like to incase it bleeds a lot? who knows.

It won't bleed much if at all. DGS had a baby tooth out two weeks ago and went straight back to school, surprisingly! Wanted to show his friends the tooth I think.

Dd has the same problem. We are having dental check up this afternoon and I will ask about the teeth.

Nothing really. The tooth will fall off I guess. Dentist wasn't worried.

neveradullmoment99 · 30/01/2019 21:24

So did s/he just leave it then?

It finally got out in October couple of weeks ago. The front teeth are not on level but according to the dentist the tooth should drift to its position. (Previously vicious)
