Hi all! I am new to this site really going out of my mind with the side effects I am having. Wonder if anyone else has experienced these and its not something else?
I used Microynon for years before I had my daughter in 2011 then years after having her until I had my son in February last year. Since having him I have started using microgynon and have had a really sore left breast (I have been to the doctors about this worrying the breast pain could bs something more sinister but the doctor could feel no lumps etc and the breast clinic have put me down as a routine referral). I have also been having bad leg pain, ive had thrush every month 😔😔.
Has anyone else had these issues? Is it possible that although I was fine on it before I could have issues now?

Hi There the suffered the misery of thrush every month about the 3rd week in. Itcdrove me crazy and really affected my self confidence. The doc said it was not the pill but I was taken off that pill at 40 and put on cerelle (progesteron only) never had a problem since so was definitely the pill. Can't help with the sore boobs bit.

Hi @AkT91

I can't comment on the thrush or leg pain, but I was on microgynon for years, ten after I had my daughter I went straight back on it again. Had the most awful breast pain, went on for months. Eventually changed to Gedarel 20/150 and have had no trouble since.

Might be worth switching if your doc thinks it would help. Smile

I have been on microgynon for about 18, with 2 breaks of c18minthd when I had my dc. Have been back on it for over 3yrs since dc2, about a year ago I started getting bad breast pain. When to the dr several times over the course of a few months and as no lumps etc she said she thought it was hormonal and probably linked to running 2 packs of the pill together. I have since noticed that if I run packs together (which I always used to do with no issues) that I do get quite bad pain for a few days

Thrush here too, was horrendous.

At one point the doctor even insisted doing an STD test which came back negative. I didn't put the two together at first but as soon as I did I stopped taking it that day (didn't need it for contraception at the time) and my side effects cleared up within a couple of days.

I came off microgynon recently after simply having had enough of the sore boobs, so so tender :(

Have you had leg pain checked out? Is it not a marker being in pill for thrombosis?
