People with IBD - how are you treated?

DD has IBD. She had a flare up recently and is on reducing prednisolone and is just starting pentasa.

What are other people on? How is your quality of life?

Trying to gauge how 'well' DD should be when technically in remission

I have IBD. To be honest, even when I'm well I feel a bit ill.

Steroids make me feel worse during the reducing stage and I end up taking them for months and months as I can't seem to get off them.

Currently in remission on biologics, Azathioprine, Pentasa and prescribed vitamins/minerals. Still feel pretty rubbish a lot of the time.

@MollyHuaCha thanks for replying - that's really helpful.

DD is reducing her steroids so that could be why she is feeling so awful, I hadn't considered that.

The medics seem to only be concerned with her colon being in remission but she still has a lot of mouth ulcers etc.

The treatment for IBDs is so much better now than it was when I first developed Crohn's 35 yrs ago.

I hope she feels a lot better soon. Smile
