Thrush Pessaries-use at night?

It says 'preferably use at night'on the instructions.

I am working the night shift tonight.

Does t mean 'preferably use while you sleep'?

If I use it while I am awake will it be less effective?

Or does it literally mean it will work better at night for some reason, sleeping or not?

Anyone know?

The pessary dissolves I think, so it's more effective if you're lying down.

I always assumed it was so they didn’t fall out!

meaning less chance of it leaking out before it's done it's magic

You can use them whenever, the only reason they say at night is because you’re not moving about so much when you sleep so they stay in place better and work more effectively. I suffer with chronic recurring thrush due to autoimmune problems and use them whenever... the gel pessaries are generally better as they’re absorbed more easily.
