Can anyone advise? I've also posted this in the running section as I feel it is relevant.

I recently took up running for the first time and successfully completed the C25k program late last year I've joined a local running group and now regularly run 5km at least three times a week.

Over the past couple of weeks though, I have been experiencing the following symptoms, predominantly on my left side:

A frequent feeling that someone is blowing ice cold air on my left elbow
Regularly feeling that something is trickling down my legs (there isn't anything)
Frequent numbness in my left arm/hand (especially in bed)
A compulsion to "shake my legs out" before I get out of bed in the morning, to get them going. Almost like an involuntary spasm.
Sore and aching legs and knees.

As background, I am a middle aged peri-menopausal women who had a significant left hip operation 18 months ago. I am slightly overweight, but have always kept myself fairly fit. The C25K was a challenge to see if I could do it.

When I am running, although I feel tired, I do not feel any significant aches and pains.

Should I be stretching more? Or abstaining from running? I really wouldn't want to lose the momentum, now that I am improving.

Any thoughts? Thank you Smile

Maybe a chat with your GP would be wise

Thanks fikel. I have a GP appointment booked but it's not until early March. I just wanted some advice.
