Polyp removal and results wait

wonderstuff99 · 24/01/2019 09:49

I had a polyp removed from my cervix 3 and a half weeks ago and am still waiting results (the consultant said a couple of weeks).
When I call the consultants secretary, all I get is an answer phone message saying "They'll be away for quite a while" and that the messages will be checked twice a day!
I called on Tuesday and today explaining that the wait is causing me to be very worried and can someone call me back, even just to let me know they've got the message.
Anyone else had a similar procedure/waiting for results experience?
Thanks xx

It's horrible waiting but I think I would taken it as "no news is good news" in all honesty. If it was anything urgent you would have heard by now I'm sure. Flowers

I had one removed a couple of years ago and I think I have another one.
Please don't worry, it's incredibly rare for them to be cancerous unless you've been told yours is high risk.

If they had found cancer you would not be waiting almost 4 weeks to be told.

Have you tried ringing your gp surgery? They should have been sent the results.

I had a ruined Christmas/NewYear with similar a couple of years ago. If I'd rung my gp I'd have had the results three days after the procedure and had a happy Christmas.
