Hi, I went for a smear test yesterday and the nurse was quite rough. I was referred for one by my GP as I have had a month of abnormal bleeding which died down and stopped on Sunday. I have been referred for bloods, smear and am going to have an abdominal and trans-vaginal scans tomorrow.
I am 47 and have had one abnormal smear test before showing CIN 1/2 changes for which I had a colposcopy and LLETZ about 6 years ago.
Hoping someone out there can advise about my two questions which are 1) what do I have to expect at the trans vaginal ultrasound and will it matter if I am still bleeding and does it hurt? 2) I got home from smear test yesterday and soaked through a sanitary towel but no pain. Still bleeding today and passed two large clots but bleeding is less. Is this within the range of normal?
Really hoping someone can share their experience as I have had spotting etc after a smear test but never a bleed and clots. Feeling really worried
