Tight chest & swollen face

This has happened a couple of times now, so I'm thinking it might be an indication of something serious.

This morning I woke up around 5am. I was coughing, my chest felt tight and my face felt hot and swollen.

I stumbled downstairs for a glass of water, took an antihistamine, a swig of cough syrup and had a strepsil. Also put some vapo rub on my chest.

One or all of these things worked because it went away and I went back to sleep cough free.

I can't find rhyme or reason, or risk other than a stuffed nose .

I am going to the docs, but wondered if anyone had experienced something similar and what it may be!

That sounds very much like an allergic reaction to me... and the antihistamine took it away. Have you washed your sheets in anything new? Used a new body lotion, moisturiser or anything lese on your face?

@BigusBumus

I thought the same the first time but I've no idea what it might be.

Nothing has changed at all. Is it possible to develop it out of nowhere?
