Did you get tinnitus dental implants?

Has anyone suffered from tinnitus as a result of dental implants?

I developed tinnitus over 12 months ago. Sometimes it hissed and sometimes it sounded like crickets.

I didn't realise it at the time but it was caused by dental abscesses under two cracked teeth. When the cracked teeth were extracted and the abscesses drained away, the tinnitus stopped.

I'm now hesitating whether to proceed with dental implants. The procedure is invasive and gets so close to the nerve, I'm concerned the tinnitus could return.

Does anyone have any experiences of dental implants they'd like to share?

Your post is very interesting to me. I am also contemplating an implant for a back molar and I'm very conflicted. The space of my extracted tooth isn't visible and I'm wondering if getting an implant is even worth it.

Aquamarine1029 thanks for your response. I had two teeth removed last year.

One of them was a back molar. I've decided not to replace it with a dental implant as I don't miss it, the gap's not visible when talking or smiling and my existing teeth are unlikely to move (took 3 dentists advice on this). So I would advise that you probably don't need a dental implant to replace the back molar which is great as it will save you a couple of grand.

I've attached a pic of the gap I'm considering the implant for as I don't want the other teeth to move. I'd love an implant but nervous about the tinnitus returning.

The lack of responses here suggests tinnitus caused by implants isn't common.
