Portishead v Backwell

Hi everyone,

I am considering moving to either Portishead or Backwell. They both have good secondary schools although Backwell is better.

Backwell looks very small though and I am concerned it is very sleepy and not so good for young children.

I am also looking at primary schools and am considering West Leigh Infants in Backwell or High Down Infants in Portishead. Does anyone have any knowledge of these schools?

Thanks in advance xx

Hi OP,you need to get this post moved as it's on the General Health board. It would get more replies in Chat.

I'm from that area although I don't live there anymore. Traffic coming in and out of Portishead is a nightmare,so beware if you're commuting. In fact Bristol is also pretty awful in rush hour.

Thank you - I didn’t realise. I have moved it.

I’d probably choose Backwell. It is small but well connected. Lots of buses and a train station

Portishead is a nightmare to get in and out of as it's currently served by just one road and no train station.

There not a lot in Blackwell I'd recommend Nailsea as there's more of a community
