Jittery feeling few days before period

Does anyone else feel jittery/anxious just before their period, not every cyccle but every few I feel awful and jittery as if I haven't eaten at all even though I have. Is this normal, does anyone else feel like that? Anything that helps?

Yup. You're not the only one, usually around that time I have one or several panic attacks. The doc has prescribed me propanalol so I take that religiously for a few days before I go to bed and usually a sleeping tablet too. What helps me otherwise is staying off of social media, reading books, being kind to myself. A good bit of self care.

Thanks for you, it's an awful feeling.

Yes, me too
I almost feel as if I have the flu coming, terrible insomnia and then horrible dreams! Random feelings of guilt about nothing in particular and over thinking , worrying about everything. :(

HollyWoods8224 · 15/01/2019 20:32

Yup, almost every time from about 7-4 days out I get really antsy.

If i'm running a few days late, i think those days are hell for people around me, I just cry at everything!

I also have really odd dreams, (once a giant orca jumped and landed on the highway, then it flicked a double-decker bus with its tail and turned the bus full of passengers into a meteor...) the crazier the dream the more painful & heavy the flow.
It can be crazy what bodies do!

Yes, me too. I can tell where I am in my cycle based on my mood/mental state.

No need for calendars.

Yes. I'm pretty calm usually but get horrible intense anxiety a day or two before my period starts.
I work on ignoring it because I know it is totally biological and will disappear as soon as my period starts.

Realitea · 15/01/2019 20:50

Yep it’s horrible but it helps knowing what it is if that makes sense. It’s just hormones playing havoc!

probablynotrelevant · 15/01/2019 21:07

I used to, but I have been seeing a medical herbalist and she has been treating my system so it doesn't react so much (hardly at all now) to the hormone fluctuations anymore.

Onynx · 15/01/2019 21:15

Yep- the whole week before. I also get unbelievably clumsy and uncoordinated and feel dizzy etc. Combine that with being fuzzy-headed, emotional and forgetful - I'm such a joy to be around that week😏

Hairytrotters · 15/01/2019 22:02

Thank you so much for the replies, glad to know it's not just me, but sorry to hear other people suffer the same with similar symptoms. Sometimes just nice to know you're not alone with it. I feel better after having a big dinner and resting up now.

I get clumsy too, I seem to hit everything with my feet and drop everything!

Yep same.

For a few days felt anxious and last night absolutely HAD to have a glass of wine. I ate crap continuously for 2hrs.

Woke up middle of the night and lo and behold....period! 2 days early Hmm
