Is grumbling appendix a thing?

Is this something that divides medics? I was told you have it or you don’t (by GP), nephew was in hospital a couple of years ago and they stated he had a grumbling appendix.

I’m sure I have one but being told it doesn’t exist puts me off seeing someone about it.

Today started with trapped wind like pain above belly button for couple hours, rennies haven’t helped and feel bit nauseous, full and bloated despite not eating since breakfast, & feel like I need to have a BM but went this morning. Now I’m gernally uncomfortable above belly button
but also have stitch like pain lower left abdo.

Tender to touch but doesn’t make me scream. I’m expecting it to pass later as have had this about 4 times in the last year.

I think the appendix is on the lower right hand side of your abdomen.
