Hey, just wondering if anyone has had a exploritary procedure to see if their heart was functioning well? I had procedure last Thursday, was discharged to go home same day and told it shouldn't bruise or get lumpy. On Monday I was prescribed antibiotics for infection at the wound site. (my arm is badly bruised which i expected with being on warfrin)

My question is, how long did it take for you to recover fully? My arm is still sensitive and extremely painful when my 3yr runs into me fpr example. I thought the antibiotics should have helped by now? Im taking Flucloxacillin if that makes any difference.

Thanks for any help.

I haven't had it done myself, was it an angiogram done through your wrist. I'd go back to the g.p. if it's still painful or call the cardiac lab. Does it look infected.

Didn’t want to leave your post unanswered - sounds like you may have had a coronary angiogram with the catheter inserted into your radial artery (hopefully this rings a bell!). If so it’s normal for lumps and bumps round the entry site for a week or two, and bruising as well. This was one of the first hits on google if you want some further info/advice/reassurance: www.uhn.ca/PatientsFamilies/Health_Information/Health_Topics/Documents/After_Your_Heart_Angiogram_Radial_Artery_Approach.pdf but hopefully you will have received a procedure information sheet when you were consented. Don’t be afraid to call the department for advice if your issue is ongoing or you are worried at all Smile

It was done in my arm, just above my elbow. I did call the ward like i was told to by the nurse but didn't get much info from them, iv made another gp app but its not til Thursday next week.

Thank you both for responding
