hypothryroidism

I was told I might have hypothryroidism.

I had a blood test and when I went to the GP she said I needed my thyroid meds to be tweaked. I told her I wasn't on any; she said that's my bloods looked like someone who needed their thyroid meds to be tweaked. She sent me for one more test just to check.

Cue me saying, well that's why I eat my lunch at 11am. And hoping for meds to make me eat less (my fantasy anyway).

I then missed my GP appt as it was on a Saturday at 8.30 (I forgot to go after a 3 week wait; thoroughly kicking myself). Called GP and have to retest in 3 months. No meds for me.

Other symptoms I have are: high cholesterol; hair falling out; arthritic pain in writs, ankles, shoulders; sleepy in the afternoons.

What should I be asking for next? Should I just wait the three months?

Is she your regular GP, if so how does she not know you are not on medicine? Your symptoms sound conducive to hypothyroidism and as she already has suggested it, it is probably likely. You can wait three months, nothing will really progress or suddenly deteriorate, so I wouldn't worry. I am surprised however that there is a three month waiting list to see a GP.
