Hello I have been taking cilotopram for around 9 months . 10 mgs i was on 30mgs but have tapered down . For the whole time every night I have vivid multiple dreams like I'm awake but asleep. Has anyone had this it's exhausting !

Hi ,I think this is not uncommon .

I've been taking citolapram for a few years ( 20mg ) and I constantly have very real dreams .None are happy .

I find I dream a lot just before waking and my mood tends to be rather infected by them throughout the day . I don't know whether altering the time of day you take them might help ?

Mmm ,I take mine first thing as well .I wonder if there any posters who have found taking them later has an effect on the flipping dreams .

I had this and dr changed me to Escitalopram which is the same meds but less likely to cause insomnia.it worked.

@SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc Ah thanks for the info did it cause you any problems changing?

I also changed and tgere were no issues. It is the same drug just more pharmacologically "pure" and less likely to have side effects. So unlikely to experience change. I was on 40mg citalopram and it stopped working, i take 10mg escitalopram.

No dr said could swap straight over
