I had 2 back teeth removed yesterday. Horrendous experience, but it needed doing!
Anyway, I can’t get this vile taste and smell to go! The wound/socket has gone a gross yellowy white colour... is this normal? I can attach a pic if you want, but I warn you now, it ain’t pretty!!

Were you given Corsadyl mouthwash to gargle with regularly for a few days post op? Or advised to have salt water gargles?
If neither, you may have an infection in the socket. Ask your dentist to take a look at it.

I’ve been doing the salt water today. Didn’t mention corsodyl(heard mixed reviews of that stuff). It’s still a bit achey, my face is slightly swollen too.

Warm salt water mouthwashes rather than corsodyl mouthwash beginning 24hours post extraction, is the gold standard regime. Make sure you do this after every meal.
It could be the start of a dry or infected socket(s) or it the white appearance could just be normal granulation. Extraction sockets don't heal like like other bodily wounds. It can be normal for it to be very sore especially if the extractions were tricky. Keep everything clean & take regular pain relief. Ring your regular dentist at opening time Monday morning if things aren't improving by then.

Re the slight swelling within 24 hours .... again can be normal if traumatic extractions. Using an ice pack 3-4 times daily wrapped in a thin tea towel for 60 seconds can help. Are you ok taking Ibuprofen alternated with paracetamol? This will help reduce swelling & inflammation. Obviously if swelling increases significantly seek help from OOH dentist, if not feasible to wait until your regular dentist opens Mon Am.

Thanks. I plan on giving them a call Monday, just to make sure it’s doing what it should.
I’m meant to be going to a party tomorrow but I’m very self conscious of this smell Blush

I can’t take ibuprofen as it messes with the meds I take
