Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone here has this condition.
We noticed my daughter had it (eyes turning out occasionally) at about 3 months and it got progressively worse.
She had botox surgery at 18 months which was ineffective. It then got much worse and she had surgery at 2 and a half. The doctor overcorrected as is the norm, so she was somewhat crossed for awhile.
She patched for years to strengthen the eyes and started wearing glasses about 3 years ago. At our last appointment doctor said all was good, but on report to gp said there was residual exotropia... Which basically means a slight sign of exotropia.... Prior to that in all reports they had said she had Esotropia (turning in)
Since the doctors report I have noticed that her eyes have started turning out again..... Its very slight and not all the time., but I can't help but feel this is the start of it returning. I feel really down about it as she has basically been clear of it for 5 years.... She doesn't even know she had it, just thinks she needs eye appointments.
She has a appointment in February, I might try to bring it forward.... But if anyone can give me some stories about long term effects after surgery I would be grateful
