Sorry if this is the wrong place! I've had a stomach bug since New Year's Day (I wish it was overindulgence but no!). Waited my 48 hours, felt better all day today then suddenly worse this evening and back to the same symptoms. Is this normal or have I reinfected somehow?

I've seen no one (not even sure how I caught it as I haven't seen many people in the run up to nye and none have been ill) to catch another bug off. So miserable, worst start to a new year ever!!

Yes, the virus can definitely stay in your system and come back for a second bout. It's happened to our family before, it's horrible!

I don't have medical expertise, but I'd suggest drinking plenty of water and sucking on those rehydration "pops" that children have. Also wiping door handles and surfaces with disinfecting wipes to kill germs that might be lingering in the house. Put bed sheets/anything you've been wearing on a hot wash.

I hope you feel better soon. Flowers

I had D&V from 19th - 24th December (severe from 19th-21st couldn't keep even water down, was both sick & poo at the same time every 40 minutes!! Then on and off either D or V 3 or 4 times per day from 22nd till 24th) then nothing Xmas Day or Boxing Day, then D started again very early hours of the 27th and lasted till the 28th late evening :-( I'm 32 weeks pregnant as well and it was hell on earth, but yes like you it did come back for a 2nd dose after I stupidly thought I was better.

It is the absolute pits, you'll get very little sympathy from Docs, they weren't interested, just said keep drinking fluid and eat normally when you can! I lost over half a stone.

Get well soon x

Last time I had noro I had symptoms for 10 days and felt wiped out for a few more. The time before it was much shorter.
I think it's normal to have periods where you perk up.

I called 111 who freaked me out and said that was too long then a nurse called me back as said it was perfectly normal.

Sorry you're still feeling poorly but I'm sure you'll pick up soon.
