Calcified haematoma 😬

Hello everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has had one of these and if it sounds like the same thing I have.

Basically, I fell off a wall in 2001 (it’s not a particularly ‘urgent’ problem, this) and got a huge bruise all down my left hip and leg. It stuck out like an extra hip and was really sore for ages. I went to the gp and he prodded it with a ruler and told me it was a haematoma and that it would go away.
Anyway it hasn’t gone away- in fact it’s just the same and still a bit sore if I prod it in certain places. It’s quite noticeable- I had to have my wedding dress altered to fit round it! It doesn’t really bother me or anything but does anyone else have anything like this? What would it look like if I could see it?

I had something similar inside my knee from a accident in martial arts.
I ended up doing a private MRI as I was fed up and it was a solidified haematoma the size of a small egg. The option was to wait and if it didn’t go away have surgery. I went away but yours was in 2001, I would go to the gp and say it is painful and ask for ultrasound or MRI. If it hasn’t gone in 18 years it is time for intervention
