Anyone have experience with this?
I've been having quite bad pain in both my legs for 7/8 months now, started off in the knee but then moved into the calves and then spread up into the bottom of my thighs. Now it's mostly the back of the knee, top of the calf and bottom of the back of the thigh, and a big on the sides of the legs. It varies in severity, worse for several days if I push myself to walk further than 10 minutes so 10 minutes is basically my limit. When I was doing the physiotherapy it got so bad I couldn't sit down because the pressure to the backs of my thighs from sitting was too painful. I also have small Bakers Cysts behind each knee, not large enough for the doctor to consider draining yet but does make the pain a bit worse.
I did physiotherapy in October but it made the pain worse and the physiotherapist told me to stop. Had an MRI just before Christmas and received a letter from the doctor saying that the MRI saw 'strain changes in the patella and quadricep tendons' (translating from Finnish but that's my understanding of it). I've been referred to the physiatry clinic but my appointment isn't until next month and I am pretty fed up by now, I'm in pain almost all the time but can't take anything other than paracetamol for it because breastfeeding and have had stomach troubles with NSAIDs.
I'm not even sure what a physiatry clinic is, is it just going to be more physical therapy which made things worse earlier?
