Asthma after pregnancy?

I know I sound mad but I'm wondering if anyone else has had asthma reappear/worsen after pregnancy.

I had it mildly as a teen and in my early 20s but it seemed to disappear.

Dc2 is almost 5 months and I'm really finding the colder air irritating me. I'm constantly coughing and it turns into a coughing fit to the point I'm struggling to catch my breath if someone walks past with a cigarette. Same with bonfires, chimney smoke etc....which usually results in me peeing myself that's a whole other thread though!!

I was only diagnosed after my first child (though I think had had it extremely mildly as I recognised some symptoms I've always had) and it's deteriorated after this second baby, now 7 mo.

Had two months of hell in the autumn and now on a new dual inhaler which is definitely better so far.

And all those symptoms sound familiar. Ask to see the asthma nurse at your surgery as most gps don't manage it now. You need a steroid inhaler ASAP.

Give asthma uk a ring too.
