I am generally a very healthy eater and not a big drinker. I basically got blotto a few nights ago, spent the day and night vomiting as a result ( not big or clever ).

Anyway, I then started suffering with terrible discomfort in my chest and stomach which has been diagnosed as an inflamed oesophagus and been prescribed Omeprazole. How long till I start to feel better as I’ve a long awaited weekend away booked with DH and I’m really hoping I’ll be back on form for Friday.

I had this after a course of antibiotics and one got stuck as I hadn't taken it with enough water. I've never known pain like it, it was horrendous. Took about 3/4 days to start to improve, avoid really hot and cold drinks and I ate things like porridge/soup that didn't take a lot of persuasion going down.

I get this and had an awful flare up last weekend. My stomach and chest felt close to exploding. High dose Ranitidine has solved the pain for me but I'll need another endoscopy soon as the flare ups are happening often.

Thanks both. I’ve been careful today with food and drink, but still feel a bit rubbish. Pain was horrific last night, I was sticking my fingers down my throat to be sick as I felt like a had a bit lump stuck in my chest. I’m going out for dinner shortly ( I wouldn’t bother only me DH and DS haven’t been anywhere over Xmas) , think I’ll have a salad and water. Avo hope your endo is ok.

I had a similar thing - turned out to be gallstones.
