Anaemia - spatone plus ferrous fumerate

I’m trying to get my iron levels up as quickly as possible to counter awful symptoms I’ve been having.

Can I take 4 sachets of spatone plus the prescribed ferrous fumerate is that too much iron in one day?

Someone posted that when I started a thread, perhaps six weeks ago.

Spatone I took every lunchtime.

Ferrous sulphate every other night.

I used oat milk in my tea, and limited myself to two cups per day, one at 6.30am and one at 4.30pm. One coffee at 10.15am (teacher - breaktime!)

No excessively milky things, except the odd yoghurt. I probably had two yoghurts a week max.

I didn't have THAT much iron supplementation, I thought, and I was worried my levels wouldn't have moved, but as I said above, my ferritin doubled and my Hb went from 112 to 130. I thought that was pretty amazing 😁

Ugh I run permanently low iron. Like others, I’ve switched to taking my iron just a few times per week, with vitamin c tablets. I take iron bound with methyl b12 and methylfolate, feel so much better than with awful constipating ferrous fumarate. I also juice beets, with carrots celery ginger and cucumber, I love it. No idea what my ferritin levels are currently, hb was normal at last check.. I can normally tell where they are at by how many palpitations I’m getting!
