Citalopram side effects

I’ve been on a low dose of citalopram for a few months now, the side effects were horrendous when I started taking them but settled within a few weeks, I feel though now that I need an increase in the dose as my anxiety etc is returning but I’m worried that I’ll have the side effects as bad again- has anybody increased their dose and if so we’re the side effects as bad as when first starting them?

I didn't notice any increase in side effects when my dose got upped. I think the worst of the side effects are when you first start with citalopram then after that there is less chance of experiencing them once the meds are in your system. Chat with your gp and tell them your worries, maybe they will be able to reassure you or give you an alternative medicine to try.
