Possible stone left behind after gallbladder removal

I stupidly didn’t think to ask my surgeon when I saw him but what happens if there are stones left behind? I am being sent for an MRI as I continue to have pain the same as I did when my gallbladder was in place.

What happens if they are there?

I had to have a second op to widen the sphincter that lets them through op. I had several more stones and my consultant seemed to think that some people can make stones without their gallbladder 😖 I still have similar pains now more than four years on but they are short lived and reasonably infrequent.

Sorry OP - I’m absolutely no help but just following this because I still have discomfort 14 months on from removal.
