For the last 9 days I've been in agony with my throat. No fever, no cold to accompany. Just a dry cough. Went to the doctors Monday and she said though my throat was red nothing obvious, no fever etc. And nothing obvious on my tonsils. She gave me difflam spray to relieve it however still in complete agony eating and swallowing are horrendous. Painkillers work for a couple of hours then back to agony. I've laid off them a bit as don't like how many I'm taking but now where my throat is sore just under my jawline it's sore to touch that spot as well. It hasn't even eased over 9 days if anything got worse. Can anybody shed light?

My doctor made me go back for a week The when signs of infection appeared gave me AB. I had bloody strep throat and it was agony.

I've laryngitis atm and it is painful but bearable but again has been rumbling on for almost 2 weeks.

I hope it sorts itself soon because it's miserable but if I were you I would go and get it checked again.

Thanks! Think I'll go back tomorrow. Is it possible to have strep throat without fever? I am bloody miserable just opening my mouth and talking hurts x

Could be any kind of virus or infection, just get it checked again for your peace of mind. ThanksThanks

Is your voice distorted? Could it be quinsy?
