I know, I know, don't drink them. :-P

Seriously, I'm using antibiotics in one eye for partial blockage of my tear duct. Every time, afterwards, I get the worst taste in my mouth/throat. Any way to avoid this? It's foul ...

Oh I'm with you there. Just finished Rx for conjunctivitis. Bleugh and curly toes every time.

wishingfourgotone · 26/06/2007 19:07

sorry no help about the taste, i think i have blocked tear duct, if ive been crying it bubbles under my lower eyelid, i HATE the drs with a passion! what yours like?

NotQuiteCockney · 26/06/2007 19:10

My eye isn't totally blocked, it doesn't run all the time, but it runs if I make a decent amount of tears (wind, crying, onions). It's unpleasant, though.

Our local practice is very nice, and the doctor was very helpful and pleasant about it all.

Thought my bublle was a reaction to summat or my hayfever, till i noticed if i cried it bubbled under my eye, also i have started leaking tears when not crying

oh, my ds2 had an operation on his eye 2 weeks ago. He is still taking his antibiotic eyedrops, four times a day until Friday. I knew he was brave.

NotQuiteCockney · 27/06/2007 09:59

wishing, I would go talk to your GP. Do you dislike all docs, or just yours?

I don't know if my eyedrops are fixing mine, they make my eye water more, so I 'cry' like mad.

Are you using Optrex Infected Eyes? I had to use that for a while because of a paper-cut on the white of my eye, and it did taste foul. I never really found a solution for it, but thick drinks worked better than water. I used to have water followed by a slurp of an Innocent smoothie.

NotQuiteCockney · 27/06/2007 10:05

No, mine is Brochlor. It's for conjunctivitis. Probably the same active (yucky) ingredient.

Ok, I have to ask, how did you get a paper cut on your eye? That sounds like something your DH would do, not you!

What is it with eye infections at the moment? I have one, three friends have one - and yes, that Optrex stuff tastes vile and I still haven't really got my head around the fact I can taste something I've squirted into my eye.

DS was reading a Cbeebies magazine which has a stiff outer cover and I lifted him up to put him in his car seat. [ouch emoticon]

Bran- Ouch it making my eyes water thinking of your papercut!
I dont like the gp they all very patronizing, and if i go morning surgery i will be waiting at least two hrsn my dd(1yo) struggles on bus for 20mins!
And even if book an appointment i will still wait at least an hr! I have come to the conclusion that in fact i dont like all drs!
