Slight rectal bleeding after bowel movement

Kate3150 · 24/12/2018 06:46

I’ve always suffered with hard stools, I also had successful surgery for bowel endometriosis 5 months ago.
The last few weeks maybe up to a month, I’ve had on and off rectal bleeding after a bowel movement. It’s not everyday and it’s not a lot- like a bit of bright fresh blood. I must also add the bowel movement is uncomfortable because it’s hard and I often strain. Does any experience the same frequently? X

Just to add there isn’t any blood in the stool and it’s normal colour

You’ve got piles, my love.

A total overhaul of your diet OP. Don't get me wrong OP, I love my food too. I'm just putting off the inevitable too. Prune juice is helpful though.

Piles sounds likely.

Thanks guys..

Although my diet isn’t the worst.. it isn’t the best either. I do love my stodge- pizza, pasta etc....

My water intake has been shocking this year.. I used to be really good but it’s not what it used to be.

I won’t consult Dr Google anymore then xx

Any rectal bleeding needs checking out by your GP though, not diagnosis via Mumsnet. A v quick examination will rule out anything worthy of further investigation and they may prescribe something if it is piles. Could be a small fissure also.

I agree with above posters about what it prob is but it does need checking out.

Just an update for those of you who gave me advice on this thread. I went to the doctors and have an anal fissure. I’m so pleased I went as feeling a lot better now and have been advised on what to do going forwards. Thank you Wink
