Hi everybody. Just wanted to ask other women what there post natal hair loss was like??? I've had very bad hair loss since my little one turned 3 months and now he is 6 months. It shocked me how much hair I lost and I sometimes feel very depressed about it because I don't feel like I look like the same person anymore.

I’ve had the same with all three of mine, it’s horrible isn’t it? I kept blocking the shower with all the hair I lost! Mine got loads better by the time they were one though, and I’ve been told many times it is normal post baby. However, you could ask the doctor to check your iron levels as this can cause hair loss too, just to rule this out.

Mine stopped and started growing back at 7 months.

It’s normal.

You generally shed up to 100 hairs a day, but during pregnancy you don’t. So you’re just getting rid of all the extra you’ve accumulated.

Thank you everybody for your responses it's greatly appreciated. I've had my irons levels checked and my iron was low which may have contributed. But I also have patched of baldness, and that's really freaking me out

My DD is 7 months and I have seen a huge improvement after starting to use Alpecin caffeine shampoo. I also take a biotin supplement and starflower oil capsule which contains GLA. After commencing these my hair stopped falling out within a few weeks and started growing back within a few months. I was going completely bald at the temples and now it’s full of fuzzy hair.

Good luck.
