Ear ache - two weeks, not shifting

Hello, not exactly life threatening but I’ve had earache for two weeks and it’s not shifting. I’m pregnant and saw my docs before I headed home for Xmas and she gave me (pregnancy-friendly) antibiotics for tonsillitis but nothing for the earache (I assumed was all tied in to tonsillitis but not sure now). Not sure if can get anything preg-friendly OTC (eg ear drops) - does anyone have any suggestions for treatments whether home remedy or from chemist. Mum suggested almond oil so am trying that but don’t think it’s wax build up (was at pool a couple of weeks ago and silly partner splashed me so think it could be that but don’t know for def). All help super gratefully received! Xmas Smile

It could be otitis externa, I have it a lot and it causes awful pain. My gp didn’t detect it for so long despite me going back a few times and I went completely deaf in that ear. I saw a private doctor in the end who prescribed an antibiotic ear spray called otimize and sucked the ear with a mini hoover. Grin It can be caused by ‘swimmers ear’ so there could be a link with the water

It could also be a viral one or inflamed due to the tonsillitis in which case hold something warm to the ear for as long as you can. It really helps. I use those wheat bags that go in the microwave if you have any of them
