hope this is ok to post under health!

has anyone ever used olive oil to treat very dry and damaged hair? i read it online as a DIY for this and was wondering how decent it works..

(it said online to put the oil on, cover with plastic cap and then shampoo as usual)

TIA

I think it would work, haven't tried it though. I used it on DS's dry hair when he had bad cradle cap if that helps

Yes - I've done it. years ago though. Also Mayonaise is supposd to be a good conditioner as well, the oil and the eggs.... I'd leave it on for at least half an hour

Yes, it can work, providing your hair isn't thin/lank. Leave it on as long as you like, but try to keep the covering warm.

Another way of dealing with it is to take olive oil internally .. try a teaspoon a day and up it to two teaspoons if you don't see a difference in a couple of weeks. Don't go overboard, or your hair will get greasy.

It's very good for you, trish. Recent studies have suggested that women should take a teaspoon a day to protect against osteoporosis.

I've been doing it for about two weeks, and my hair is noticeably shinier, as are my nails.

looks at nails yep, those could use some help too!

very cool! thank you!
