3 year old excessive ear wax

Hi. My son is nearly 4 years old, and has always had quite s lot of wax in his ears. Every morning I clean around them with a baby wipe to wipe away any wax that's on the outer ear. This morning he had so much wax in his ear, when I was cleaning it I could hear the wax squishing around in his ear. He says it isn't blocked and it isn't painful. So I'm just wondering if it's normal for a child of his age to have this amount of wax in his ears. And whether I should be taking him to the doctors so they can look at it? Thankyou x

Mine have very waxy ears. Both have glue ear so regular audiology appointments. I ask about it all the time as I'm amazed at how much wax there constantly is but their ears are rarely blocked. I go olive oil them on & off. My 6 year old is on noticing I'd say, intermittent wax rather than constant
