Do I need to get this mole checked out?

I have a mole on my face and it is normally quite flat but yesterday I noticed it was a bit swollen. Now it's very raised. It feels like a huge spot and it's really sore.

Despite my name it's not actually a hairy mole but an ingrown hair is a possibility?

Get it checked.

How many yrs have you had it?

HairyMoleWoman · 12/12/2018 06:04

I've had the mole my entire life, it's not a new one.

I also just noticed one on my bum cheek has become very raised and a little bit sore.

I might just be being quite paranoid, my mum had skin cancer a few years ago and now it's playing on my mind.

It can be normal for them to change over time (they grow slowly).
It sounds like you won't be able to relax if you don't get a professional opinion.

I had a big mole on my face and it had hairs on it. I did get it checked and it was suggested that I had it removed even though it was normal (not cancerous or anything). I had it removed and quite happy about my decision. There is a hardly noticeable scar on my face.
I think you should get it checked for your peace of mind.
All the best x

If you’re worried, getting it checked it the right thing to do. In all likelihood it’s nothing sinister though.
