What's wrong with my skin?

I haven't changed anything, detergent, skincare etc. For about two weeks now, I have had two big red itchy patches down the side of my face. My eyelids are red and itchy. Behind my ears there are two smaller stripes.
I put it down to what my nan called "winter burn" not putting enough spf on and getting a sore face from the cold weather but I also have, from the bottom of my neck almost down to my bra, a real irritation, (sort of looks like what we would call heat rash) lumpy red blotches that itch to glory.
Whilst I have dry and sensitive-ish skin, I've never had anything like this. The itching is awful. I am putting anti histamine cream on which eases it a bit and slathering blue pot Nivea on ,which seems to be helping my face a bit.
Any ideas of what it is and what I can use to make me not red and itchy? Ta!

Have you tried taking an antihistamine (I see the cream helps a bit)?

And I'd try Aveeno to soothe it.

Could it be rosacea? I would suggest a visit to a pharmacist in the first instance. You could try an OTC tablet antihistamine as well to help with the reaction but you need to be seen by someone who knows what they’re looking at.

Thanks for the replies- I did wonder about Aveeno, when dd was little we called it magic cream.
I'll pop into the chemist and flash my oh-so-attractive decollete at them!

Is it just one side of your body? Could it be shingles?

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 08/12/2018 09:48

It's both sides but so far only neck and face and top of body. Pharmacist has given me antihistamine pills and a stronger cream.

First of all, you need to see a dermatologist to get a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. Second of all, throw that Nivea in the bin. It is full of rubbish and chemicals. Until you see the doctor use only natural moisturizers like argan oil or another natural oil.
