Hi All!

Just after a little bit of a hand hold and a few "don't worry's"! I'm getting myself in a right pickle!!

On Monday, I had a gastroscopy and colonoscopy. Aside from the throat spray, they were Ok. I had sedation so don't remember much!

I've had a few colonoscopies, though not since 2016, as I have Crohn's disease.

Good news, the CD is inactive (Woop!), however, they did find (on the way out!) a 10mm sessile polyp. Obviously I need to wait for the pathology report to come in, and I know it is likely to be nothing, but..

This is a large polyp, and in May of this year, my Nan (mum's mum) was rushed in for emergency surgery for a Grade 4 bowel cancer. She has a history of polyps. I told the IBD team this at the time. This scope wasn't because of that, just because I kept feeling sick, so they thought they'd check.

Now all I'm thinking is it will be a 'bad' one. There were no other suspicious sites, and lots of biopsies were taken from the rest of my large intestine..

Please calm me down and tell me to stop being such a worry wart!!!

They said up to 20 days for results.. I guess the longer, the better?

I cant offer any advice but I'll happily sit with you.
I've just had a phone call from my Dr this morning. I moved address/drs recently and they did a health check. From feeling totally 100% fine, I've now been referred to a cardiologist for a heart problem and now just heard that one the samples I did has come back showing Blood, so they want me to go and have a colonoscopy. I'm currently sat on a plane on the way to America. The timing couldn't be worse x

Oh @Borntobeamum big hugs for you. Try not to worry too much (I know, easier said than done!), blood doesn't always mean bad news.

Enjoy your break and deal with whatever it is when you get back.

Hugs x

Thank you Daffodil. The Dr said she felt awful and not to worry but that's easier said than done. My blood test showed I'm anaemic so she out me on iron tablets and asked for a sample. This was sent in 3 weeks ago so I'm not sure why it's taken her so long to get back to me. Apart from blood in my stools, I have no other symptoms and I had a colonoscopy12 months ago as where I used to live, they invited everyone s the got to 55 for one!
Hey, happy Birthday, have a camera up your bum!
Thanks again for replying. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you x x x
