Bad breath

I suspect I might have bad breath. When talking to people, I see people stepping back and covering their nose as if it's cold. ☹️

I used to smoke but I'm off them now. I use an e cigarette with juice and I'm.dowm to a low nicotine strength now. Vaping can cause dehydration. I do think I have a dry mouth. The majority of my daily fluids is tea. I was sick all summer with hayfever and things have cleared up. However I do feel there is a lot of mucus at the back of my throat. I'm going to try and drink more water to see if it helps. I will get a toothpaste for dry mouth to see if it helps. I checked online and there's something called biotene or something like that so I will get something like that. I find it hard to floss my back teeth but I do have a water flosser. I don't use that every day so I will have to try and up my usage of that.

Does anyone else have any help or advice about bad breath. Any other toothpaste or mouthwash to recommend. Something that wouldnt taste bad or strong. I can't use some mouthwashes because I find them very strong.

See your dentist first.
Then your GP to check for sinus infection, H pylori, tonsil stones and rarely, but possible, kidney problems.

Identify the cause then you will be able to treat it.

It's been years since I've been to the dentist. I have a fear of the dentist. Not only that, I'm not in the us where I presume the NHS would cover dental treatments. I would be able to afford an a dentist appointment but anything after that, follow up appointments and any work to be done and I would struggle to pay.

It's most likely your gums that are the problem.

Vaping does leave you dehydrated but cups of tea alone will not keep you hydrated enough. You need to be drinking more water so doing that will be good. The tea could also be leaving a smell on your breath.

Could you take out insurance to cover your dental costs? You may have gum disease which is not always viable, or a hole in a tooth that food has impacted into

Well done quitting smoking!

Definitely a trip to the dentist. Need to rule out tonsil stones or food caught in teeth. Do you floss? Or brush your tongue? Do you get constipated or eat a lot of spicy foods or dairy?
