Foreign body stuck after GA?

My DD has been ill for a good while and the timing has made us suspicious that it might be that something has been left in her windpipe or something has got damaged during GA she had back in August. It’s really just a guess, but I wondered how common this is?

Vanishingly uncommon. (From an anaesthetist).

Thanks walking that’s reassuring. Would a lot of blood from the intubation just be the tube scraping the throat badly?
My DD is complex, so clutching at straws probably.
Ps anaesthetists are awesome Grin

There isn’t routinely bleeding on intubation. Obviously I can’t comment specifically on what’s caused your daughter’s problems. If there were difficulties during intubation most anaesthetists would inform her/you (depending on her age) so that similar problems can be anticipated and hopefully avoided in the future (especially if the reason for you saying she is complex relates to ENT/facial anatomy). If you’re really worried it may be worth contacting the surgeon (who could speak to the anaesthetist) or the anaesthetic department (there should be a secretary who could help).
