I'm allergic to plasters. Could it be that?

Try taking some anti-histhamines.

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 22/06/2007 20:22

i've never reacted to plasters before.

its meant to be on till the stitches are taken out in 10days time.

only have liquid piriton, oh joy for that taste lol.

could be an allergic reaction to the dressing, Both DS and I have this problem. Try taking some piriton or ring the hospital and see what they advise.

sorry cross posted

Have you taken the dressing off? Seriously, do so - just keep it clean and dry. I STILL have a scar running all the way round my front and in a big oblong on my back from the dressings they put on me following my caesarian (and one from the epidural!)

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 22/06/2007 20:25

but i shower daily, i cant keep it dry lol.

oooo i dunno what to do.

dd2 reactas to some plasters, it leaves a mark like aburn on here.

You can wrap a bit of clingfilm over the top while you shower - you only need keep it dry for 72 hours after the op. So you should be fine by Sunday anyway.

christywhisty · 22/06/2007 21:33

wholovedmychocolate the mark should go away.
DS has a dreadful plaster mark on his stomach (far worse than the graze it covered) for about a year, but you can't see it at all now.

whomovedmychocolate · 22/06/2007 21:35

Thanks, I hope so!
