He hadn't even noticed it! Is quite soft and definitely not hurting or painful

Yes it’s an olecranon bursitis. Unless it’s hot it’s not infected. It will normally subside by itself but may need aspirating by GP. Try to get your DH to take anti-inflammatories unless he’s allergic to them or asthmatic, of course.

Bursitis - dh had it, and needed antibiotics - they didn’t want to drain it because it was better for the fluid to reabsorb gradually, then there would be less chance of it reforming.
