Chest infection

Hi my Auntie has been sent for a chest x Ray by gp with a suspected viral chest infection.

She has been helping my brother move house and there's been loads of dust and plaster mess which she thinks is what has caused it.

It seems quite extreme to X-ray. Has anyone experience of an X-ray for this? I've got myself worried sick (I have health anxiety). I'm very close to her

There is a virus going round at the minute that's causing chest infections. If the GP thinks it's viral it won't have been caused by plaster dust etc. They'll be x-raying to rule out pneumonia, infection, pleurisy etc rather than anything very sinister. Hope your aunt is ok and try not to worry Thanks

I had a couple of chest X-rays last winter when I had i had prolonged chest infection, that turned into pneumonia. I think it’s standard if prolonged.
