BRAT isn't really recommended tbh. Just eat what you want avoiding rich, spicy or fatty foods. Keep up fluids

dementedpixie · 29/11/2018 15:18

And why have you starved yourself for 21 hours?. That's not recommended either

BusterGonad · 29/11/2018 15:24

What colour was your vomit? Did you manage to get it into the bowl? Maybe eat a vindaloo!

Hi there OP,

We hope you don't mind, we're moving this over to general health - we think you'll get more support there.

gracechesh · 29/11/2018 15:32

i have been eating but only plain toast, just worried i will throw up again.

Did you take both day and night nurse? How do you know it was a side effect of the drug and not part of the illness?

gracechesh · 29/11/2018 15:45

i only took the day nurse tablet, and i didnt feel nauseas untill i took the tablets then i just started throwing up. I had the cold 5 days before buying those tablets and i didnt feel sick at all only when i took the tablets.

Did you only have 1 tablet? Are they not just paracetamol, antihistamine and caffeine?

WhoTookTheCookie · 29/11/2018 15:54

Do you usually vomit if you take paracetamol? Any sensitivity to caffeine?

Seems strange that a day nurse tablet would do that.
Anyway, I would say you're absolutely fine to eat after 21 hours.

gracechesh · 29/11/2018 15:59

i took 4 tablets yesterday as you have to take 2 in the morning and 2 in the mid day, i never vomit when i take paracetamol, but this day and night nurse was max strength, the side effects are vomiting. So hopefully because i havent thrown up in 22 hours i can eat normal food

Did you take them on an empty stomach? I'm fine with paracetamol but it has made me sick in the past if I haven't eaten.

gracechesh · 29/11/2018 16:03

yes! i took them on an empty stomach

day nurse has pseudoephedrine. It makes dp feel ill if he takes two, but Ive not heard of vomiting as a side effect, and if it were a side effect then it would pass within a few hours. You wouldnt have to change your diet.

If you vomited more than this, I think youve got a tummy bug and its nothing to do with the day nurse
