4 yr old DS has banged his front teeth and they are sore

He actually 'banged' them on his dad's leg . DH was tickling him on our bed and DS was thrashing around. His two front teeth are aching now. They aren't loose and there's no obvious marks on them or the gum. Is there anything I can do? Should he see the dentist? Obviously they are still milk teeth

When a child has taken a knock to the teeth it is advised that they see the dentist. It's called a trauma and if the knock was hard sometimes the teeth can turn black (or a darker shade) If it were me I would take him to see the dentist just to make sure they are ok, especially as he is complaining of them being sore.

Thanks timeforme. My eldest 2 kids both managed to bang their front teeth (we don't throw them about honestly ), they discoloured and had small abcesses behind them. DS#1's weren't that bad but DD's were removed. But neither if them complained of pain at any point in fact we didn't know that anything had happened until the teeth started to change colour. I will call the dentist and try to see someone.
