Argh - why do they get ill towards the end of the week?

Ds1 has been ill with a fever for the last two days. Nothing else seems wrong, just a highish temperature and serious miserableness when not dosed-up on Calpol and Nurofen. I would normally feel that, if he's had a temp for 3 days on the go, and isn't getting better, then on the 4th day I would take him to the doctor. Particularly as you're not supposed to give them so much medicine without seeing a doctor. But the 4th day will be Saturday, when the GP is closed (I think). So what do I do? Take him to the GP tomorrow, or hang about until the w/end and use the out-of-hours service?

(And just to make it more awkward, on Saturday we've got a big family outing booked.)

Don't worry about seeing the GP - it could be an ear infection for example, which probably wouldn't clear up on it's own or it could be nothing.

I'd take your DS just in case it's something he needs medicine for then you'll have it for over the w/e just in case.

They won't mind you going if it's a child.

Thanks, L.

What do others do when your child is like this?
