Sciatica cause by growth on ovary?

Went to the doctors later week with horrendous sciatica and just mentioned I was also having lower right abdominal pain, he felt my abdomen and said he could feel a swelling on my ovary. He then went me for the c125 blood test which has come back slightly raised.
I'm going for an ultrasound on wed due to another doctor thinking I had an hernia (this doctor doesn't think it is and was pretty annoyed at the last doctor)

The doctor thinks it could be the growth on my ovary causing the sciatica I'm not convinced having had a severe herniated disc confirmed 2 years ago.

Has anyone ever heard of sciatica being caused by a growth?

A friend had ongoing lower back pain which was subsequently found to be caused by a growth on her ovary. She had surgery and pain resolved.

I guess that sciatica can be caused by growths in the pelvis as it is a common problem for pregnant women. If you had a herniated disc a few years ago then that's far more likely to be the cause of the sciatica. The large ovary and slightly raised CA125 might be related but are probably a different issue altogether.

My mum had this, had a sore hip for years with various diagnoses from doctors, finally got a scan (privately - insert rant about NHS underfunding here), found a cyst the size of an orange, took out the ovary, no more hip pain.

Whether ovary swelling and sciatica related or not, ultrasound given everything you describe is excellent as they'll be able to have a good look around. Try not to worry.
