DS is 2.9. He was out of sorts yesterday and has had a slihgt cough for a day or two, today he has been feverish and sleepy, not wanting to eat much. A little while ago he asked to go straight to bed so I put him to bed with a does of medised. THere's no rash, no sign of a headache or shying away from bright lights - is there anything else I should be worried about or is this just a little bug?

Most likely a bug. Having a fever does make them listless. Try not to worry. If calpol/medised doesn't get his temp down you can give neurofen too (with an hour in between if poss) if his temp still won't go down with both then you need to see a doctor. I'm sure he will be ok though. It's hard not to worry I know. Hope he feels better woon.

SOON...SOON, not woon !

Thanks. I keep telling myself that it's probably best for him to sleep if he wants to, and I have managed to get him to drink quite a lot of water even though he wouldn't eat more than a few bites of his breakfast and refused lunch. He did eat a pack of mini-cheddars though (an occaisonal treat he's allowed, I mutter befreo the Food Police get me).
I will remain calm.

Water is the key, don't worry about food, they all go off it when they are ill. 'Tis pants being the parent of a poorly child though. My dd was quite ill with a sickness bug and high temp a while ago and I was on here posting! You can't help worrying

Madamez - I could have written your post! Ds (2.7) has been inconsolable this evening and is now tucked up in bed, earlier than normal. Dh is away too which doesn't help!

Hope your ds has a good night and is better in the morning.
