Newborn rash: should I worry?

I noticed my four week old had a rash on her torso this morning- still not sure if it's a rash or individual spots. I've now noticed some on her neck.

Does this look familiar to anybody? Should we worry?

She has no temperature, is v alert and in good form, if anything feeding more than usual (ebf). The rash fades under glass.

I'm still quite anxious: We spent a week in hospital when she was two weeks old as she couldn't be woken and ultimately nobody could find a cause, she was on loads of prophylactic antibiotics but all tests came back negative and she went back to normal so we went home with no explanation except it was probably something viral the tests didn't pick up.

Since then I find it hard to know what to worry about and what is normal for babies: I'd rather not go back to doctor if it's a typical baby thing as we've already been in about oral thrush she developed after the antibiotics, and another rash on her hands, and I don't want them dismissing us as paranoid first time parents.

However I'm still finding it hard to feel confident it doesn't require action so any reassurance/suggestions as to what it might be would be great.

I’m sorry I think you need to go back. I understand your fears about being labelled an anxious parent but better that then something happen to your baby.
She looks quite mottled to me which would worry me rather than the rash.

It doesn't look worrying to me and the fact she is alert and otherwise fine makes me think it is nothing to worry about BUT I have never been dismissed by a doctor. They have ALWAYS said they would rather I checked than not. And I have checked a fair bit over the years! I would not hesitate to take your baby to docs and just ask. If nothing else it will help you start to build a picture of what is normal and what isn't. That's how we learn now that we aren't surrounded by communities with lots of babies around to check and compare.

I'll give GP a call in the morning- I know what you mean about appearing mottled in that photo but I just looked and think it was the light or at least she doesn't seem like that now. Though in this light the spots/rash seem angrier,

She's so little and precious, I really don't want to spend her first few months constantly worried when I know there'll be lots of sniffles and minor things along the way but it's so difficult to know if something is serious or not.
