Migraine?

I have occasionally in the past had bad one sided headaches with nausea. My husband gets migraines and has aura and light sensitivity - because I don't get these I've always assumed mine aren't migraines.
Yesterday I had such a severe headache that it incapacitated me. All on one side of head behind my eye and made me extremely nauseous - I was feeling like I needed to vomit but not much coming up (sorry if tmi - didn't feel like a sick bug). I tried various pain killers (ibuprofen, paracetamol, OTC co-codamol) but nothing worked - for reference I very rarely take pain killers so don't think it is drug related headache. Today, after finally managing to sleep, I feel fine.
I will try and get a gp appointment but wondered if this sounded like a migraine to others that get them? If so is there anything I can take for it without prescription? (in case I get one again before I get to gp).

Yes, sounds like migraine.

Youve taken all you can OTC, so trip to GP and they can prescribe sumatriptan for if it happens again.

To purchase Imigran/Sumitriptan over the counter I think you have to first have it prescribed. All subsequent purchases can be done on presentation of a signed card that is provided by the pharmacy. Although this procedure may have changed.
